Bellringers Preserves

Aubergine pickle isn’t a preserve you see every day: but then Mark Regan isn’t your everyday pickle-maker.

University lecturer by day, artisan producer (and bellringer) in the evenings, weekends, out-of-term and any other spare time he can find, Mark’s great-grandfather owned a pickle and jam business in Sunderland before the First World War and Mark - albeit on a smaller scale - is continuing the family tradition, seeking inspiration from hand-written recipes in old notebooks whilst adding a new twist to his range of chutneys, jams, marmalades, mustards and pickles.

The ingredients are sourced from local gardens, orchards, allotments and farm shops, whilst a contribution from the profits of the business goes to the world’s first purpose-built bellringing teaching centre in Worcester Cathedral.
