Lightwood Cheese

Lower Broadheath has two claims to fame: as the birthplace of Sir Edward Elgar and as the home of this artisan producer of great-tasting cow, sheep and goat's milk cheeses. Combining traditional methods with modern standards of hygiene, Haydn Roberts - formerly head cheesemaker at Neal’s Yard Creamery - branched out on his own to set up Lightwood and produce his own range of distinctive cheeses that you won’t find in the supermarkets.

Perfectly paired with the Wychbold honey and Bellringers preserve in our Worcestershire hamper, we’ve chosen two of Haydn’s best: Worcester Blue, a soft blue, pasteurised, cow’s milk cheese and the silky and creamy unpasteurised Eleanor goat’s cheese.

Sweet music indeed.
